The inspection process is an important phase during a turbo overhaul. By determining the cause of a defective or damaged turbo, future damage can be prevented. For each overhaul order we look at how a damage occurred. In addition to preventing future problems, it is also important to find out which parts of the turbocharger need to be replaced or repaired. Our specialists look at each turbo in detail, as was the case with this assignment for the company RH Revisie.
For this assignment from RH Revisie we could restore a number of beautiful turbochargers, so the vehicles can be on the road again without any problems. This order involved turbochargers from Land Rover engines. RH Revisie has more than 15 years of experience in rebuilding engines and transmissions and, just like MasterTurbo, quality, service and craftsmanship are of paramount importance.
At MasterTurbo we are transparent and professional when it comes to making arrangements for an inspection of an order, so that there are no ambiguities or questions for the customer. The turbochargers are all cleaned, checked, repaired, rechecked and prepared for the customer one by one in our workshop.
Upon arrival, all turbochargers are first fully cleaned with our Bio-Circle machine, where dirt is broken down biologically. This makes the turbos look spic and span and all scratches, marks and thus damage to the turbo become visible. The parts that can be reused are blasted again to remove old layers of paint and varnish.
The cause of the turbocharger damage is then determined during the inspection process. It is often difficult to assess the damage yourself, but our specialists know how to deal with almost every faulty turbo. If a new turbo fails shortly after installation, it is usually put down to the quality of the turbo. However, the cause often lies elsewhere in the engine, for example, a leak, worn parts or a blocked pipe can cause damage to the turbine wheel, the turbo housing or the turbo bearing.
The next step is to determine which parts need to be repaired or replaced so the turbocharger can once again function as it should. After the inspection process has been completed, the necessary work and the corresponding price quotation are discussed with the customer. After the client's approval, the overhaul is completed so the Land Rover can be back on the road as soon as possible!
