John Clifford Garrett founded the Aircraft Tool and Supply Company in 1936 and later named it the Garrett Supply Company. At the end of the 1930s, it manufactured its first product: an aluminium intercooler for an aircraft. The company continued to expand during the 1950s.

Through years of experience and acquired knowledge, Garrett quickly became the go-to company for various turbo parts. Today, Garrett produces various turbos for a range of applications.
